All screenings will be held at The Southern Theater. The festival is an official ARTshare event. We have two free screenings and 3 screenings at sliding scale ticket prices ($5-$24). Please spread the news and feel free to pass this email along. This is my last year leading the festival so I am looking forward to seeing many familiar faces! Please make it out!

As part of ARTshare , the Altered Esthetics Film Festival presents its fourth season at The Southern Theater , June 1-3 with screenings, performances, and discussions. Each year a theme is selected based upon trends noticed in the selected submissions.This year's theme, Unravel/Reclaim , brings a wide variety of moving-image-based works together. The festival screens local, national, and international artists. 

Altered Esthetics is a volunteer-driven nonprofit art gallery and organization located at The
Southern Theater on the West Bank in Minneapolis.

Six Families opens the screening with an immersive performance of dance and moving image inspired by the festival's Unravel / Reclaim theme. They begin at at 7:15pm. Arrive early!

"Drawing on our experience as theatrical and soundtrack composers, we create ambient sonic environments in realtime by playing and sculpting beautiful and captivating layers of music. Every show is unique as we create spontaneous soundscapes with percussion and guitar and effects."

Friday, June 2 / 9:45 PM - The Other Side - Free Screening
Screening event length time: approximately 2 hours
The festival is presented by Altered Esthetics, a nonprofit art gallery and organization based out of The Southern Theater

The films of The Other Side explore the bizarre and the eccentric, the beautiful and the horrendous.  From baroque labyrinths to sexual politics, our late night program unravels concepts of humanity and identity to reveal something even more twisted.

The festival is presented by Altered Esthetics, a nonprofit art gallery and organization based out of The Southern Theater

Feminist Video Quarterly is a growing community of women and gender non-conforming artists in the Twin Cities.

"Our mission is to create a network of support for artists by developing a community around their artwork. With funding from Midway Contemporary Art, we host quarterly screenings at underground art spaces around the cities. At the Ae Film Fest, we have collected films from our first five screenings, showing a vast representation of our community."
